Inspirational Thought For The Holidays – Thanksgiving

fridays inspirational thought

What a great way to end the holidays. How about spending some time with our families and friends, enjoying the fun in shopping malls and the excitement of the holiday season. Maybe some family or friends should make a trip to our local mall. If we all agreed that this would be a special time for us all, maybe we could all agree to spend a few minutes together. I am thinking of a Friday Inspirational Thought.

Everyone has a special place that they enjoy visiting. Whether it is going to the mall or sitting in the backyard smoking a cigarette, we have a favorite place. So it is time to take this place, our place, and make it ours. So what is our place? It is the Christmas tree.

We can have a Christmas tree in every room of the house, just add a little something to it and change the decoration from year to year. We could have a Christmas wreath on each door leading to our living room. I think this would be a wonderful addition to any home. A little something added here, and there is what I call adding to your decor.

What a wonderful time to get together with your family. Spending time with those we love. My sister recently celebrated her 65th birthday. She has taken to hanging her Christmas stockings on the tree while wearing her beautiful pearl necklace. The Grandmother is always making cookies and cakes and letting everyone pick them up. The children have been making snowmen for her.

The family has a tradition of coming together on Thanksgiving Day. You might think it is strange to have a family gathering on Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving is my favorite day. When the Pilgrims came to America, they took their Pilgrim’s supply and equipment with them. That equipment has now become part of the tradition at Thanksgiving. What a time to gather around a table and share the spirit of the season.

A Much Ado

I have attended a number of weddings over the years. The problem that I always find is there is never enough time to do all the things I enjoy doing. My husband normally goes with my kids to watch the game. This leaves me very isolated at home during the entire evening. The same can be said for me at home.

The best Thanksgiving’s I have ever attended happened when I was able to spend a decent amount of time alone with my husband. He went out of his way to make sure I was completely involved in the celebration. It was a memorable experience and a great inspiration to write those inspirational thoughts.

I hope you are able to use this inspirational thought article to bring your family closer. Take some time and give everyone involved some love. If you don’t have enough time to do this, plan a dinner, brunch, or a family event sometime during the week. Everyone will enjoy spending time with you and your special family. What are you waiting for? Get out there and do something this weekend!

What’s the worst that could happen? You meet your worst enemy. When we were married, our son wanted to visit his grandparents for the first time. Needless to say, our mother was not happy about this. She made a point to see her before she left and had to explain why she was coming.

We were so happy when she did. During the visit, my wife noticed something that she hadn’t done before. She noticed my grandfather smiling from ear to ear. For the first time, she realized how much he enjoyed seeing his grandkids. After the visit, she felt like she was reconnecting with her own family.

Bottom Line

Thanksgiving is about family. Sometimes we focus more on our own needs than on our family needs. We often put ourselves last. Thanksgiving gives us a chance to remind ourselves to pause and care about those around us.

What are you doing this holiday? How many times have you heard someone say they’re thankful they had enough time to plan ahead for this or that? Inspirational thoughts are important. Make this a priority this year.
